Payment Due Date Calculator
Enter the invoice date and the payment terms, such as Net 30 or Net 30 EOM, to get the due date. If the date falls on a weekend or a holiday you list, it can be moved to the next or previous business day.
How each set of terms is calculated
Each rule below says exactly which day is counted as day 0, because that choice moves the answer by a day.
Net N: N days after the invoice date
"Net 30" means the invoice is due 30 days after the invoice date.
- Due date = invoice date + N days. The invoice date is day 0 and the next day is day 1. An invoice dated October 18 with Net 30 is due on November 17.
- If you choose "The invoice date is day 1", the invoice date itself is counted, so the same terms give November 16. Use this only if your contract counts that way; the default (the next day is day 1) is the usual reading.
Net N EOM: N days after the end of the invoice month
"Net 30 EOM" (end of month) means the 30 days are counted from the last day of the month in which the invoice is dated, not from the invoice date.
- Due date = last day of the invoice month + N days. That last day is day 0 and the next day is day 1.
- An invoice dated October 18 with Net 30 EOM is counted from October 31, so it is due on November 30. An invoice dated January 15 is counted from January 31 and is due on March 2 (30 days after January 31, across the short month of February).
- Every invoice dated in the same month gets the same due date.
Monthly cutoff and pay day
Terms such as "cut off at the end of the month, pay on the 15th of the next month" or "cut off on the 20th, pay at the end of the following month".
- The cutoff is the first cutoff day on or after the invoice date. An invoice dated on the cutoff day belongs to that month's cutoff; an invoice dated after it belongs to the next month's cutoff.
- The payment month is counted from the month of the cutoff (this month, next month, the month after next, or up to 12 months later).
- The due date is the pay day in that month. If the month has no such day (the 31st, for example), the last day of the month is used.
Example: cutoff at the end of the month, payment on the 15th of the next month. An invoice dated October 18 has its cutoff on October 31 and is due on November 15.
When the due date falls on a day off
You can choose what happens when the date falls on a Saturday, a Sunday or a date you list:
- Do not adjust (the default) keeps the calculated date.
- Move to the next business day takes the next day that is not a day off.
- Move to the previous business day takes the previous day that is not a day off.
Saturday and Sunday are days off by default. You can change this to match your own working week. Public holidays are not detected: they differ by country and region, so add each holiday you want to treat as a day off. The result shows the date before adjusting and how far it was moved.
Example: a Net 30 EOM invoice dated December 5, 2026 is counted from December 31 and falls on Saturday, January 30, 2027. With "Move to the next business day" and weekends off, it moves to Monday, February 1, 2027.
Notes
- The result is calculated from the terms you enter. Check the actual due date against your contract. Terms are worded differently from one business to another: some contracts use "EOM" to mean "due at the end of the month", which is the monthly cutoff option with the pay day at the end of the month, and some count the invoice date as day 1. If the wording is unclear, ask the other party.
- This tool does not calculate discounts for early payment (such as 2/10 net 30), late fees or interest.
- Dates can be entered from January 1, 1900 to December 31, 2100. The number of days can be 1 to 3,650.
Frequently asked questions
What does Net 30 mean on an invoice?
The full amount is due 30 days after the invoice date. Net 30 EOM counts the 30 days from the end of the month in which the invoice is dated.
Does the invoice date count as day 1?
By default it does not: the invoice date is day 0 and the next day is day 1. You can switch this for Net N terms if your contract counts the invoice date as day 1.
What if the due date is a weekend or a holiday?
Choose to move it to the next or previous business day and, for holidays, add the dates as excluded dates. Whether payment is due before or after the day off depends on your agreement.
How do I find a date a number of days from today without payment terms?
Use the Date Calculator to add or subtract days, or the Business Days Calculator to count only working days.
